Can a snes gamepad be added to button/joystick setup?

Rp3b+ My system is setup for arcade games using joysticks and buttons. My sons would like me to,add snes games to the system. I have a usb snes controller. It it possible to plug in the controller and configure it for the snes emulators, or must one reconfigure the system to match the snes controller?

@dayooper Yes, it can be done - add the controller and configure it in Emulationstation. You'll have to configure the SNES system to use the controller #2 (or #3 if your cabinet has a pair of controls) to become Player1. This can be done by using the Configuration Editor , by modifying the Joypad order for the
