      Hello,
      Every time I try to start a netplay host, the emulator crashes and I find this error in runcomman.log:

      /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 1012:  2461 Segmentation fault      /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-fceumm/fceumm_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/nes/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/nes/Contra (USA).nes" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

      Pi Model or other hardware: 3
      Power Supply used: USB3.0
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.4.11
      USB Devices connected: 1x Keyboard / 1x Controller

        I don't know, this has happened to me. Can you start netplay from within retroarch? Is there a inet driver that needs to be set? Will it work with Ethernet disconnected possibly?

          I don't know what you mean by that. I start the emulator, and then I try to start the netplay host through the retroarch menu.

          I don't have an ethernet cable connected, I am using wifi.

            Ithink in the 'runcommand' it is possible to start with netplay enabled. As well in retroarch by enabling the setting. Try using the runcommand.

            I don't have my pi set up right now so I can't try it for myself. I have it with me, I could plug it in, I could even use the new vncserver I was trying out, but maybe later.

              @Efriim I tried with the runcommand "Launch with Netplay Enabled" option. This time I can see the first frame, but then the emulator crashes again pointing to the same line error:

              Parameters:
              Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-snes9x2010/snes9x2010_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs$
              PPU.RenderSub = 0
              PPU.FullClipping = 1
              Settings.Transparency = 1
              Settings.SpeedhackGameID = 7
              PPU.SFXSpeedupHack = 0
              coldata_update_screen = 0

                I plugged in my pi. It was closing on netplay everytime.

                in emulationstation on the 'retropie list' there is an item 'RetroArch Netplay' There is an option for hostname set to "retropie" by default. If you have a different hostname for your pi. Change this so they are matching, that worked for me.

                  @Efriim I changed the netplay name to match the hostname. Now I can start a netplay host through the runcommand "Launch with Netplay Enabled" option.
                  However if I try to start it through the retroarch menu the emulator keeps crashing. It is a partial fix though, thanks.

                    Perhaps there is the same setting somewhere within retroarch, I didn't really test it bad on me, I had to clean the kitchen though.

                    It is a peculiar thing, I remember it working without configuration, I had a hostname so I don't really understand it.

                      Indeed there is. Under Settings -> User -> Username (it sets the "netplay_nickname" in
                      retroarch.cfg). With this matching the hostname I can start the netplay host from retroarch menu.

                      Same here. I used to have a netplay nickname different from the hostname, and it didn't matter. Weird.
