lr-mame2003 keyboard keys doesn't move at mame menu

Hi,
I connected a keyboard in order to press TAB on the keyboard which brings up the menu at arcade menu (not the retroarch mentu). The menu pops-up, but I can't use any other key in order to select or move between the items. i can only bring it to be visible. Note that my joysticks are working fine and retroarch menu also works fine and joystick moment works when in retroarch menu, but not mame menu.
any idea what went wrong?SPEC:

did you compile the latest version from source ?
