      Hi All,

Ive been working together with the repo owners of yamagi quake 2 to get better support for controllers in yamagi quake 2.
We have now updated it so its easier and more convenient to switch weapons and cycle/use inventory using a controller.
This was done in following pull-request: https://github.com/yquake2/yquake2/pull/392

Now all that is needed is an update to the config.cfg to add some key bindings to have it setup from the get-go and a wiki entry or similar showing people that this works.

Anyone know who I should reach out to make it happen?

      Regards,
      /Jimmie

@jimmiejohnsson84 Create a PR for the RetroPie-Setup scriptmodule for yquake2 - https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/ports/yquake2.sh - including the changes that would be necessary. You could add a sample .cfg in the user's config folder, then add a note in the Wiki about it or other method to pre-configure the controller.
For the Wiki, it's enough to have a Github account and edit the Quake page - it's not restricted. The corresponding page at https://retropie.org.uk/docs/ will be automatically re-generated after a bit.

        Thanks for the contribution !

If you find the scriptmodule too 'cryptic' to submit a PR for it, you can explain how the new settings work and how I can try adding those modifications or something to that effect.

            Hi,

Thanks for the info! I will try and have a look at it when I get a chance. I've modded it to download my PR from github before, to test the fix we did, so I don't think it should be to hard.

            /Jimmie
