Suggestions for ports
-
there is no guide that working i searched everything, anyway thanks
-
@retropi19 Hmm maybe it was the server version that i compiled last time. I might look into it again. I think it only runs in X11 window (Desktop)

A suggestion tpo1990 why you dont take the zerojay repository you are active into making/porting games or just take his ports and improve them fix them half of them are not working and others need updating
As he mention in his repository:
This repository is no longer maintained. Please feel free to fork it and take it over for the Retropie community as I am no longer using it and no longer have time to do any work with it. To those of you who have made an effort and contributed, you have my endless thanks and respect. -
@retropi19 I already asked him the same in this thread here
-
if he can take it i can help i have fixed/updated some of the ports corrected some that are not working etc

@Heartless said in Suggestions for ports:
What about Parsec port for retropie, as an alternative streaming app?
https://github.com/Kozova1/Parsec-Integration-With-RetroPie
you can do it your self is very easy
by the way im trying to run widelands in retropie it does not run without opengl anymore the command --opengl=0 is not working any help?
-
In case someone missed it, I have now created a working scriptmodule for Caesar III and shared it in its's own topic. So that source port can now be marked as available.
I'm already working on the next script module for a source port that will be a big surprise. (hint: it's based on ioquake 3.) :-)

@tpo1990 openarena??
-
@retropi19 Why would you want openarena when you can just install Quake 3 from RetroPie setup?
-
@tpo1990 its free and very similar, quake 3 needs the game file otherwise you play the demo
-
@retropi19 I see your point. Well i have not tried openarena, so i can not say if it works or not. Maybe some other people here have tried it. :-)
-
@tpo1990 i did it works 100% with full speed
you are not the only one here that is making scripts :)
if you want help or ideas for other ports let me know -
@retropi19 Then let's combine the work.
-
any suggestions for games to do?
-
@retropi19 Good work. The more the better. As long as we can keep on bringing more source ports, it will benefit the RetroPie project and expand the possibilities. Could you perhaps share your work?
My way of doing this is:
-
- Follow instructions from developers site/repo and make sure dependencies requirements are met.
-
- Download from source and try to compile into making a working binary.
-
- Testing and deciding if the source port is good enough for RetroPie project.
-
- Create a working scriptmodule. Test the scriptmodule and make sure it complies with RetroPie setup.
-
- Create github repository and upload scriptmodule, screenshots and other information.
-
- Create topic on RetroPie for the selected source port and share it with the RetroPie community.

@retropi19 Are you going to be posting any of the install scripts for the ones who are not any good and compiling.
Like myself. :)
-
@ExarKunIv this scripts are made for retropie if and when they become available you will have the change to install them from there, now if you want a specific port i can give it to you
-
I have very good memories from playing Tremulous and OpenArena like 10-15 years ago, do they work fine on the Pi ?
