I have Bose Companion 5 set (Comes with two satellites and subwoofer.. the 2 speakers plug into the sub, the sub plugs into the wall (powers everything including the speakers) and the sub connects to a PC by USB.....or hopefully in my case the RP3+

is there any possible chance i can use this set for retropie (rasberrypie 3+)?

Also im a newb so just trying to set my first arcade1up cab... sound seems to be only thing messing with me

      https://www.amazon.com/Bose-Companion-Multimedia-Speaker-System/dp/B000IE8Z4Q

      this is the exact set...

so does the drivers deal is the only thing im thinking that will give me trouble.. anyone have any knowledge on this?

@swimdad84 the USB connector might not work but he 3.5mm certainly will. You could try it and see what happens as theres no harm in just trying.

Almost everything Bose is proprietary which means that while there is a standard USB connector, there probably isn't a Linux driver for it.

@Parabolaralus so the Bose should technically work through the volume dongle

@swimdad84 it looks like it. You can also plug your phone into that dongle too to test it I suppose or just plug the pi into it.
