Atari 800 controller problem

Finally with help from here got it all working. All games work fine as Atari Joystick Controller except Caverns of Mars. It worked fine then I did something in the Select+X menu and now it only fires. D Pad direction won't work. Left Shoulder button level select works and Start starts it OK. Somehow I've stuffed up direction control. Is there a specific config for each game? So maybe I could delete it and redo it? I've got a Shanwan PS3 Bluetooth Controller. All other emulators work fine with it. Literally just this one game. One of my all time favourites and the first game I bought with my Atari 800 so real nostalgia kick there.

This sounds like you have saved a custom config for just this game.
If I recall correctly, it is located in
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/config/Atari800You can navigate to there on the command line and delete the Caverns of Mars.cfg that is probably there.

@rkoster turns out I needed to select PAL instead of NTSC then the controller worked.

Huh, changing that shouldn't have mattered, especially given that the game was originally NTSC!
