Enhanced resolution dont show in RetroArch for PS1 [SOLVED]
-
Hi!
I'm using Retropie on Ubuntu 19.04 and try to change the Enhanced Resolution option. But it doesn't show under Options. It's just a bunch of options like this where it should be:
(GPU)...
(GPU)...
(GPU)...
(GPU)...I even checked for the neon plugin thing under "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-core-options.cfg" but neither pcsx_rearmed_neon_enhancement_enable = "disabled" or
pcsx_rearmed_neon_enhancement_no_main = "disabled" where in that file.My build is using PCSX-ReARMed 1.7.6 it says when I launch retroarch from a game.
EDIT: Solved this further down in the post.

@oscarw what hardware are you using? please fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
neon options are only available for ARM (eg, raspberry pi)

There's your issue.

@Thorr69 Ok but is it because of the processor why I can't see the enhanced resolution option under retroarch either? Is there some way to enhance the graphics for the PS1 with my setup?
-
@oscarw Raspberry Pi is an ARM processor. Intel Core is a x86/x64 processor. The emulator you are using is called PCSX-ReARMed 1.7.6 for a reason. It's built for use on an ARM processor. Many of the settings you are looking for are not available to non-ARM processors.
-
@Thorr69 ok! So what do you recommended me doing to improve the resolution?
-
@oscarw i would investigate lr-beetle-psx. it should provide higher resolutions within the core options

@dankcushions Thank you for the tip. I actually solved it just like that for those who experience the same issue. My next problem came with not being able to load the games. But this was solved by looking in the log and noticed that the file path to the bins was wrongly named (It's case sensitive!!). But it didn't end there. My .img ROMs didn't load, and that's because the emulator PSX Beetle HW don't support .img files. Luckily I could just create a .cue-file linking to the .img and launch it that way. But then I found my self having duplicates of the same game which I fixed by deleting the gamelist file for ps1 and editing the es_systems.cfg so that it only displays .cue files. Pjuuh... anything is possible if you just set your mind to it :)
Edit. Is it possible to mark this as solved for others with the same issues with this post as the solution?

@oscarw You can edit your original post and change the title to reflect that it's resolved.
