So I want to try out First Strike Bowling and Golden Tee. Especially in preparation for the Pi 4 abilities.

Can anyone recommend anything besides the U-Trak? It seems to be the best option.

Does anyone know how hard this is to add to Retropie with the Ball itself and the optional two buttons?

Some say this works better in AdvMAME vs MAME and I only have experience with MAME.
      Thank you in advance,

@KN4THX The trackball and buttons should work as a mouse if you hook it up via USB. It's just another input device like a joystick.

All the trackballs are pretty much the same.
The hardest part is make sure you use multimouse in MAME settings if you have more than 1 mouse device, as you want to be able to set device specific sensistivity values.

You can figure out per games sensivity values with some info from here: https://web.archive.org/web/20160421175734/http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Spinner_Turn_Count
