      Hi all,
I found some issues similar but not the same as mine and I am a complete NOOB at this. The last time I have delt with having to use command lines was DOS in the 90's. Trying to get retropi to work on my hardware listed below and after several tries I was finally able to start emulationstation but got the following error.

We Cant't Find Any Systems! Check that your paths are correct in the systems configuration file, and your game directory has at least one game with the correct extension.

I was following the below guide. Using Raspbian Buster full and command line to Install RetroPie.
      https://www.tomshardware.com/news/raspberry-pi-4-game-emulators,40102.html

      I have a Pi 4 4GB with a 32GB micro SSD
can anyone point me to a guide or give me a step by step on how to correct this or is it best I just start from scratch.

      Thank you

The Pi4 is not fully supported at the moment - the guide you linked is not correct. You can either try the advice given in the guide - use Lakka - or wait until a RetroPie image that fully supports the PI4 is released.

I'm about to but others seem to be able to run RetroPie using this method....just want to see if I can get this to work before I give up and try Lakka.

If you're not familiar with the Linux command line, then I'd say you'd be spending more time learning it than installing and using RetroPie. Hence my advice.

              I did it this way

works just fine. I had the same issue as you after making changes to the OS and adding users. so what worked for me was to change permissions on the retropi directory and all its sub directories then no more error.

Change the permissions on the "RetroPie" directory using "chmod -R "

              So:

              "sudo chmod 777 -R Retropie"

@pony767 no need to use that (wrong!) guide: https://retropie.org.uk/download/
