My Realistic Arcade Overlays for Retroarch Collection
-
Hey everyone. I've been making realistic arcade overlays for a while now. I now wanna get into Retropie. I wanna add my overlays there for you guys. Any help would be appreciated. Currently I have overlays for standard Mameui64 and now Retroarch. I assume if Retroarch is on Retropie it would be easy to use my Retroarch overlays on it? I
In the mean time here's pack #1 of my realistic arcade overlays for Retroarch using the Mame core.
Pack #1 here at mediafire - https://bit.ly/2SqJg7N
I really hope you guys like them.
Some examples...

I just registered to this forum to say thank you for this generous gesture. The overlays look absolutely gorgeous and I will be trying them.
Currently I have automated bezels from the "Bezel Project". From within Retropie settings the Bezel Project can download the specific bezel for each game and automate the process.
I wonder if these bezels could be automated as well so we don't have to go through hundreds of games?
For now I just test one by on.Fabulous work on those overlays!
Cheers,
Chris
PS: I seem to struggle to get them working. It might be a matter of putting the right files in the right folders? Which folders might they be?
Most of my Arcade games are Mame2003, Mame2012 and Fba. -
I managed to get it working by just putting the image (.png) and .cfg file in the Pi/Home/.config/retroarch/<custom folder> and then in-game settings > screen overlays point to the .cfg file.
Below image on my DIY bartop with the custom bezel and another one with the "Bezel Project" bezel.
I have to admit that your realistic bezels make the screen very small but that can be handy for some games where I want a sharp image over a big image and have "Integer scaling" on in video settings.

@bietekwiet That looks awesome! What a cool idea!

@bietekwiet Thank you for the kind words. I'm humbled.
I use the Mame 2016 core with Retroarch. In my first pack you can see the instructions but I don't know if it would work the same on Retropie.
Btw here is a new realistic Arcade overlay for the game, Street Fighter Alpha 3 for use on Retroarch. It comes in three versions. Yellow, Maroon or Chrome molding.
This overlay is coming soon on my Arcade Retroarch Pack #2.

@Orionsangel These are beautiful! I've only seen Marble Madness with a black bezel in arcades. Was this bezel a new creation? Or did it actually exist in some form.
Just love these.

Thanks! No, it's not official, but it should be. That game deserved a proper artwork bezel.
