N64 mapping via command line?

I read all of the forums and did them through EmulationStation menu, but no matter what I try, all of them left out the C-up and C-left buttons. I thought about configuring through command line/ retroarch, but I don't know the proper setup. could someone show me how to configure all the correct buttons?
