      Hi,

I'm completely new to retropie and emulation in general. I'm just starting off on a Pi4.

I am currently looking into the jungle of game roms. I would actually prefer to have smaller quality game lists than thousands of games I will never play. I am open to all suggestions.

I found the All Killer no Filler lists on Google. Do you have experience with using those on Retropie? Would I need to download the full MAME romset first (corresponding to the MAME emulator version in Retropie, I came that far :-) ) and then the No filler script will filter a few hundreds out or does the no filler file directly include the rom short list ?

      Thanks,

I don't know how the No Fillter list works, but I think you'll need a full non-merged set for the MAME emulator you want to use. Then you can filter it down to the titles you want. If you're new to Arcade emulation, then I suggest reading the Docs on how to start and maybe the Filtering page, just to get an idea how ROMs are organized in a collection.

            @Tim-s-up @mitu

I ended up using this list with a few tweaks.

First and foremost the links in the original thread don't work anymore so i had to search for the topic number and download them that way instead.

Here is the original thread from arcadecontrols.

And here you can download the unaltered *.bat files for the categories from my Google Drive.

I edited the bat files with notepad++ and replaced "copy" with "move".
Ran the files in my FBA and Mame folders and changed the folder names from example "_beatNhack" to "Beat 'Em Up/Hack 'N Slash".

The rom files that was left in the root folder ended up in a folder named Unfiltered.

Did a new xml list build with Skyscraper without refreshing.

Now everything is a little bit more neat and tidy :)

Oh thanks @Rion. I didn't try the links on arcadecontrols yet, I will use your link then.
I will give it a try. Just have to find the right rom set to download first.

Follow up question @Rion : what rom packs are your bat files related to ? Mame 0.78 and FBA ?

I used them for both FBNeo and mame2003-plus-libretro.

@Rion Thanks. I used your files. Really useful. Especially the multi bat is very useful in my setup.
I was toying around yesterday with clrmame and romcenter to organise a 0.78 file, but I found it quite hard for a noob. Your files do help a lot !
