i've formatted the MicroSD at this time that i used last w/ 3.8[ wanted to test Android 6.0 thats on the Pi3 atm.] but when i last tried it didnt matter if it was happening in Emulationstation or PPSSPP i'd have studders that'd lead to a freeze/crash with anything (only once when i went above an ARM_FREQ of over 1350 would the overheat Overlay icon display on screen) Any ideas to find out whats going on?

as i picked up a RetroN5while i was at a Furcon in pitsburg back on the 30th, to handle NES/GB~GBA/SNES/SegaGen and leave my Pi3 to handle PS1/PSP/N64/and the oddball emulation you cant do on the retron (i have abit of a cartridge collection still laying about so kinda why i picked one up.) but since the Stock controller is bluetooth i was Curious if it can be paired with the Pi3?

Derp forgot one thing for the main issue, i'm using a 3A 5v USB Power pack i bought from Microcenter for power and teh only things connected were my Wireless Combo Keyboard/Mouse's receiver and this Chinky random "saitek" branded USB Gamepad that seems like a ripoff of teh Logitech 310 (clone of the PS2 Dualshock)

What power supply do you use. Also about the Retron 5 controller, you bet there is somebody working on getting that usable with the pi. Probably should pick up a SFC30 instead. R5 controller sucks.

The sfc30 has problems with Mother 3? Did not know that. Best thing to do with that retron controller? Punt it. Off of a mountain.
