      Hello,

I have an issue with which I need your help.

I have two 8bitdo NES30 Pro controllers, a v1 with old firmware (latest available version) and a v2 (or Pro 2) with new firmware (also with the latest available version).

Now, I noticed that there is a module/hack available for 8bitdo controllers, one particular setting that mentions “ON - old firmware” or “OFF - new firmware”.
The Pro1, I've tried it with the setting on ON and was able to configure and use it without any problems.

Then, wanting to play 2-player games, I connected the Pro2 but it seems like some buttons like L2 and R2 simply don’t respond (and they are set in Windows mode). I've also tried disabling the previous setting, but it didn't seem to have an effect.

So, my question is, how can I have both controllers connected and still configure everything? It seems like 8bitdo controllers required some udev installations.

Can anyone help here? How can I have both controllers connected and properly recognised to enable 2-player gaming?

I'm not sure if the 8bit hack is needed with recent (i.e. latest) firmware revisions on the 8bitdo controllers. You should try and remove the options, then re-configure the controllers.

For the Pro2 - try testing it with jstest (more details here) and see if the gamepads buttons are registering. You might want to try other connection mode for the gamepad - Switch/Android - if the gamepad is in 'PC/Windows' (I think that enables XInput) mode.
