Retropie Amiberry WHDLoad Black Screen
-
Hello all,
I’m fairly new to the retropie scene and I’m enjoying it a lot. So far I got the Sega Master System, Nintendo and Commodore 64 working, but I’m having a bit of a problem with the Amiga.
I can get a game to run from a zip file, in this case the chaos engine and that works fine, with a bit of tweaking, but I like the look of the WHDLoad package using the .lha files. I’ve copied a couple of files over, bubble bobble and Sensible Soccer, but can’t get them to work.
On the 1st run they create the boot files, but there is an error about set something or other and then the screen goes black. If I try to run them again I get the Amiberry logo, then the screen goes blank, I’m assuming I’ve got something wrong, but I’m not sure what. Anyone got any ideas?
Also are there any logs I can look at?
Last question is it possible to get the Amiga to use the left hand mini joystick for movement?
This all running on a raspberry pi 3 with the latest version of retropie and Amiberry.
Thanks
Richard

I am also getting either a black or a white screen trying to run WHDLoad games. The black screen told me there is a log at
/var/shm/runcommand.log
before it went black, but there were no errors logged there, only extraction and such. I can post this log if it'd help.I am using the latest Retropie and Amiberry: Linux retropie 5.10.63-v7+ #1496 SMP Wed Dec 1 15:58:11 GMT 2021 armv7l GNU/Linux Raspbian 10 buster. I am trying to play these WHDLoad games:

Do both of you have ALL of the required kickstart roms in the required locations? Without them, nothing will work. And they need to be the correct versions as well.
Please read:
https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Amiga/I use lr-puae with several versions of KS as to cover all requirements. Works really well, plus the added bonus of shaders and overlays.

@appas Please don't post links to ROMs/copyrighted material which is not freely distributable.

I think I found the problem - the ROM files were not named correctly. Thanks - I can now boot to a game!
Now, to get 2-player controls figured out...
