RetroFlag safe shutdown/reset script doesn't work on Retropie 4.6
-
Hello,
I was using Retroflag Nespi Case+ and Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with Retropie 4.5 and I saw the new version has released. So I wiped my SD card and installed the new version of Retropie and then installed the safe shutdown/reset script for Nespi Case+. But it didn't work. Script installed properly and the system restarted after the installation but when I push the power buttons, nothing happens.
Is this a bug or am I the only one having this problem?
Regards.

If it's a bug, is in the RetroFlag's script. I recommend installing @cyperghost's shutdown's script instead - https://github.com/crcerror/ES-generic-shutdown.

@The-Shadow Yes, true retoflag messed the scripts with the latest changes. Oh dear.... as @mitu said you can use my installers.
Command for install
wget -O - "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/crcerror/retroflag-picase/master/install.sh" | sudo bash
Command for uninstall
wget -O - "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/crcerror/retroflag-picase/master/uninstall_all.sh" | sudo bash

Hi @mitu and @cyperghost
This script working very well thank you so much. Also on Retropie 4.6, the system reboots itself very fast.
I have 2 other questions.
I don't remember how the reset button works (restarts whole system or just emulation station) but I tried the reset button with your script and only Emulation Station restarted, not the whole system. But this is not a problem for me. I just wondered.I also have a GPi Case for Raspberry Pi Zero W. Can I install this script for GPi Case too or is there another script for that?
Regards.

@The-Shadow It's a modification I've made. I think a reboot is not usefull. So reset just terminates any emulator (if one is running), otherwise it restart ES to update gamelists.
You can reboot from the menu ;)
For GPi - I've also used created a installer
For GPi
wget -O - "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/crcerror/retroflag-picase/master/install_gpi.sh" | sudo bash

@cyperghost When I tried this on mine - it won't start up into the splash screen anymore - the display goes nuts. Running your uninstaller and rebooting brings it back to life.
Does it do something to the display driver?
