[MAME] games using rotary controllers like Midnight Resistance
-
It's simple, under MAME I'd like to play Midnight Resistance, Ikari Warriors and alikes using just my Xbox 360 wireless controllers. Those games relied on rotary controller where you could control the shot/firing position separately from the character position. I couldn't find anything in the menus of retroarch or mame (perhaps dial?). Please help :)

@nemo93 this PR: https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-libretro/pull/41 adds support for mouse/trackball (and i guess spinner) support in the two games you mentioned (just tested). it's not been accepted to be merged into the master yet, but hopefully soon :)
the PR also adds analog controller support (eg, a 360 pad), which works in games which use analogue sticks (and lightguns and maybe some others), but not in this case.

You have really been working overtime on improving lr-mame2003 and it is much appreciated. I think this one addition has me more excited than anything else. I've never been sure what "woot" really means, but it seems like now is an appropriate time to use it, so... Woot, sir. Woot and thanks again.

@nemo93 hi,
Whilst the can't provide specific help for compiling the mame core, you may find my guide to obtaining and compiling the ffmpeg suite from source, directly on the Pi, illuminating:
