Gameboy Color Overlay not working

Hello, I’m having an issue with my gameboy color overlay showing it. I put the .png imagine and the config file in the right folder (overlay folder). When I start the gameboy color emulator, the picture shows up and then the screen goes black. Am I missing a step or doing something wrong?
System I am running:
Raspberry Pi 3 B+
Retropie Version 4.6
5V 2.5A Power Supply
