      @Raingrover Make sure they're in a supported format. https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Playstation-1

          @Raingrover well, I think you're correct. I was looking for a post like this before posting it on my own. The version 4.6 has a bug there. I tried to run about 3 games and none of them worked. None of them. For now, the version 4.5 is the stable one. The version 4.6 has errors and bugs that should've been solved first. I hope some contributor read this, test it and solve it please! Thanks!

            I have about 20 PS1 games on my Pi 4B right now and all of them work perfectly to be honest so i think it just might be something wrong on your end or that you may need to format and install the OS again.

              @sebastian My ps1 games run just fine on 4.6. Use a bios as specified by @Ecks and just in case, install from source to get the latest version of the emulator.

                same situation here: running 4.6 on a Pi3B+ and my PSX-Games (400) run as well as with 4.5.

                  i believe this could be related to https://github.com/libretro/pcsx_rearmed/pull/410

                  there were issues running a new dynarec (which we don't use) without a BIOS present, so, briefly, lr-pcsx would not launch if running with dynarec on (either the old or the new), and no BIOS present. this has been fixed, and now it is happy to run load games on retropie without a BIOS present - update lr-pcsx from source and it should be back to normal.

                  that said, if you are experience this issue then that means you don't have a valid BIOS and you should resolve that ASAP. no BIOS = many issues, even if your games will now load.

                    @Ecks I have 2 Raspberry Pi 3B+, both of them didn't work. But with the v4.5 everything works very well. I'm gonna update it as @dankcushions commented. I'll tell you how it goes.

                      Finally, I removed the package and installed from source. Wait until the whole process finished, reboot the retropie, and done! It works! So the solution is not install from a pre-compiled binary, because the pull request with the solution that solves this problem is not released yet, so the best thing you could do is compile it from source.

                      Thanks!
                      Sebastián.

                        @sebastian Since i actually have all the time right now i actually take my SD card format it and install the newer RetroPie because there has been moments when i would just update it and get issues with certain emulators and certain games so when i have the time and there is a new version i would actually install not update to that new version and then slap all the games i own onto it which i am surprised with the Pi 4B i am able to play Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder smoothly and not have choppy audio.
