PSX games run but but with choppy audio and skipping frames...
-
I've tried three different games that came as .bin/.cue/.srm and all three have this issue.
Is there enough material performance gain for PSX/N64 etc. games between Pi 3 B and 4 (4GB) to make it worth the upgrade?
SETUP DETAILS
Model: Pi 3 B
Power Supply: Official 5.1v 2.5A
RetroPie Version: 4.6
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website (Pi 2/3) - md5: 2e082ef5fc2d7cf7d910494cf0f7185b -
While N64 games are not 100% on the Pi3B, PS1 should be mostly full-speed. What games have you tried ? Did you enable the enhanced resolution ? What resolution is your display ?

@mitu I have a 4K display but haven't touched any resolution settings in Retropie/Retroarch/cores. Shall I try adjusting some?
-
@sad_muso Try running in 1080p - set up the resolution from Raspi Config in the RetroPie menu.

Classic remark in case it's the issue: can you try disabling vibration in the Retroarch core options menu and seeing if it improves it?
