How to change default Vectrex overlay directory

It seems that the default directory for Vectrex overlays in Retroarch is:

/HOME/PI/.CONFIG/RETROARCH/OVERLAY

This makes it difficult to work with, since by default this directory cannot be reached via the Retropie share.

Does anyone know where this directory is configured so I may be able to change it to a directory that I have access to?

That's not true, the /home/pi/.config/retroarch folder is mapped at \\retropie\configs\all\retroarch via file shares.
