Aimtrack Ultimarc guns pi3b or pi4b help please

so ive built a full size arcade machine around a [pi3b and pi4b]
im running latest versions on pi on both systems (4.6 i believe)
i have duel xin mo joypad arcade 6 button set (2player)

now im trying to connect the [aimtrack] [ultimarc] guns to any of my systems with no luck so far.

ive calibrated the guns on my pc using the [aimtrack] software
and i used the gunconf file aswell just incase
i have gone in to both RC files in advmame1.4 and advmame and changed the relevant files to make the mouse raw

ive tried testing the mouse via the advmame1.4 bin advm

im showing mouse 1
axes 1

now i know that isnt right on the axes i should be showing
axes 3
axe 0 [x]
axe 1 [y]
axe 2 [z] and a cpl of other bits.

in retro arch the gun shows as a ultimarc ultimarc on player 3 but i can only press the trigger to get mouse 1 come up, which incedently doesnt work on any off the games.

im not a complete lamens and ive got half a clue but ive watched more videos than Johnathan Ross now and ive searched through all the github stuff etc and i cant see where im going wrong

any help would be lovley

ps ive tried all this on both systems the pi3b and the pi4b same results
