Shaders don't seem to have effect (SNES)
-
Just got my Pi3 and have installed the latest version of RetroArch... everything works, I even managed to get my 8Bitdo SNES gamepad to work with bluetooth (painful).
One thing that doesn't seem to work is the shaders. I have chosen several (onlyfor the SNES config) and they all appear to be exactly the same. What I'm looking for is that nice smoothed look I recall the Snes9x producing on my PC.
I have all default settings, except:
Resolution at 1920x1080.
Video smoothing false. (This is to let the shader work, yes?)
Shader at... lots of things.I've rebooted the ES, the Pi... it just always looks the same (standard pictures circa 1991).
I've changed other settings, certainly changing the video drivers seems to work, the emulator changes stuff, but... yea I dunno what else to try? I would expect changing the shader to work. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.

Which file(s) are you updating to set the shaders?
Please paste them at pastebin.com so we can see where the issue may be. -
This is the pastbin: http://pastebin.com/kFjc4Xqz
It's configs\snes\retroarch.cfg. (I'm just using the Samba mount which doesn't show the whole directly structure. Not sure where it maps to absolutely.) Everything was changed using UI provide, no manual editing of files.
My understanding is the shader selected is the super smooth looking one. I don't believe I changed anything else.

that's not your snes configs file, that looks like the /all/retroarch.cfg one. the snes one should be much larger.
also you have your video driver set to sdl2 for some reason. all shaders need the video driver set to gl, which is the default...

It was the renderer. Switching to GL fixed it. Not sure how it got unset, I must have been playing in there...
Thanks!
