connect-bluetooth error when updating to Retropie-Setup 4.6.2
-
When updating the script I now get a “failed to get unit file state for bluetooth-connect.service: No such file or directory”
Bluetooth is working fine otherwise, should I just ignore it?
What I can think of is that there was an OS update quite recently that updated several Bluetooth services if that interferes with the Bluetooth commits on June 22nd? Before that there was no errors.
Using a RPI4 if that matters.

@Stuffu what settings do you have in the Bluetooth configuration? If you have background connect on it may work after going into the Bluetooth settings. But this setting shouldn't need to be used also btw if you have it set.
I made some changes to the Bluetooth module recently.
-
Btw I suspect the cause is due to a missing dependency after updating. I've implemented a workaround, if you update again (entering Bluetooth config should also sort it).
But as mentioned the boot/background Bluetooth connect modes are an old hack that isn't required for most cases and can cause issues. I need to rework the Bluetooth module more to maybe warn if switching on background mode.
(It will try continuously - every 10s - to connect to any unconnected but registered devices, but devices should connect automatically without it).

@BuZz checked Bluetooth config, connect was set to default. But when entering Bluetooth menu some dependencies were installed. After that, no more errors on retropie-setup update.
Issue closed :)

@Stuffu Thanks. I think my additional change should resolve this for anyone else updating but will do a few more tests.
-
My update resolved the error output but it could appear in another case which is now fixed. It was a harmless error message though (which is now hidden). Thanks for the feedback.

@BuZz I get the same error on my pi4. I can't ever seem to connect my wiimotes. Is this the reason?
-
@Unknown nope. And please see my signature
The msg reported was not an actual error. It was just some extra screen output during a test to see if a service was installed.
-
@BuZz Ok I guess I will have to keep searching.
-
@BuZz I'm sorry, but what is your signature? I've only been here for about a month.
