Images/Overlays in video screensaver?

Is it possible to add images, like bezel overlays, etc., to the video screensaver? It would be awesome to be able to set up custom overlays or have it grab the retroarch overlay and use it if one is configured for the system/game it is displaying at the time.
I'd hate to have to re-encode all of my scraped videos with a PNG overlay or something...

I am also interested in this for laying fake scanlines over the videos. 😎 I doubt that it'll be possible with OMX Player, but maybe VLC?

@Clyde That would be awesome. I've written a script that will take a folder of videos and, using FFmpeg, overlay images on top of them like scan lines and a bezel and spit out a new video. It would be so nice to be able to do this as an image instead like retroarch does.
