Using a fresh copy of PI4 retropie image, put the correct .78 ROMs in my Arcade folder. Tried running the ROMs with Mame2003 and it kicks back to the menu for every game. I thought I did something wrong so I started from scratch with the same results. Nothing is writing to the runcommand log. Any thoughts of something easy I missed? I did copy the ROMs to the correct folder using raspian stretch on a PI 3.

      Thanks for any insight :)

@challenger2010 could be the ROMs aren't the correct ones for Mame2003. Mame/arcade is insanely fiddly with ROMs. Can you get those ROMs working on retroarch on your laptop/pc? That's always my trick.

Also double check it's not a bigger problem and stick a Gameboy or SNES rom and test one of them.

Did you start the games with verbose logging from the Runcommand Launch menu?

            Solved:
So I started using the Buster IOS and copied the ROMs into their correct folders on my PI4 vs doing it on my PI3. Everything works now, I don’t know if maybe it is a situation with the file system.

            Thanks!

@challenger2010 A bit strange since the filesystem should be the same (ext4) in RetroPie 4.5 and 4.6 resp. Debian Stretch and Buster. But good to hear that your problem is gone. And thanks for sharing your solution.
