Got a Raspberry Pi 4 for my birthday. It's all built, has a case, power supply (came with the kit), and fan. Installed the OS, got it updated and played around with it for a few minutes.
I want to use it for retro gaming but I'm not sure what to do next. Do I install the software to the SD card already in the Pi that has the OS on it? This won't mess anything up? Or do I need a new SD card with just the retro software on it?
      Thanks!

@quicksilver I have the same problem, although with a Raspberry Pi3. Have followed all the read this first and guide information, but i still don't understand - should Retropie run on the pi without needing anything else in place. I've managed to image raspbian onto a micro SD card and run it on the Pi, but if I try the same with Retropie I just get nothing - blank screen, no response. Feel like I'm missing something basic.

@clueless-g you don't need anything else to run RetroPie. Just download the appropriate image for your model pi, unzip it and write the image to your sd card.

After the installation of Retropie, you can check this thread about Where to (legally) acquire content to play on RetroPie.
