Using Retropie From Within Raspbian
-
Hi;
Bottom line up front - I am building an Amiga and want the machine to boot into Amiberry when the device is switched on - simulating a real Amiga.
Background:
I built a Desktop Arcade machine using an Intel board, Linux Mint OS and Retropie installed. I wanted to be able to use an Amiga Emulator and everyone was saying that Amiberry is the way to go, however Amiberry will not work in a Non Arm environment.So what I decided to do was to install Amiberry onto an existing Raspberry Pi but as a stand alone, but cannot seem to find out how.
So next option is to install a slimmed down version of RetroPie with Amiberry, but I want to run it from Raspbian.
Can anyone help?
This will be on a Rapberry Pi 3

If you're using a Pi and it shall boot into Amiberry directly, why do you want to use a full Raspbian installation? The raspbian desktop will add some unneccessary system load, while RetroPie doesn't come with a desktop. There's even a comprehensive installation guide for Amiberry on RetroPie:
https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Using-Amiberry-with-RetroPie---Installation-and-Setup
You may also want to look at this thread from 2016 about booting directly into Amiga:

Disclaimer: I don't have any experience with Amiberry on RetroPie, just with RetroPie itself and emulators for other systems on it.
edit: Two more threads I stumbled upon.
