Without getting into a detailed explanation as to why I am using the right mouse button I would like to know if there is a way to get the right mouse button assigned in MAME 2016 (v0.174).

These problems appear to affect all of MAME 2016 but I have not tried on all games at this time.

When I Tab in to 'Input (this Machine)' and try to choose the right mouse button as an option, I get no response. I can choose the left mouse button (MOUSE B1) with no problem, it is just the right that does not respond. The physical button is working fine in other versions of MAME.

So I figured I would edit in the configuration file. I changed MOUSECODE_1_BUTTON1 to MOUSECODE_1_BUTTON2 thinking it would change to the right mouse button. It kinda worked, meaning that when I went back into the 'Input (this Machine)' and saw the entry (MOUSE B2) I thought it was working but when I go into the game, the button still has no response. I even tried MOUSECODE_1_BUTTON3 which resulted in (MOUSE B3) but still no response.

      Any thoughts?

I confirm the same issue. Also, controls appear unasigned under the retroarch quick menu option, unlike other mame versions (2003, 2010). The only way to remap controls is via the tab menu, but secondary mouse buttons do not work
