MAME not showing AND Skyscrapper issues

Hey all
2 hopefully quick ones - I built a RetroPie yonks back and loved it so much I made one recently for a mate as a gift a while back (3 months) that was pucker, just got round to building a newer one for myself and found 2 things that not working and a bit annoying

1. The MAME4all library isnt showing in the Emulation Station there are many many ROMs present on device - i SSH them over. The MAME libreto folder is showing with the 3 games in it.

2. The Skyscrapper Package is random - very very very few games picked up, a few ATARI that's it.
   the one i build previously (for my mate) had every game / emulator sorted - Game description and cover.

Any idea why this is ? i think i have the Buster img as it seemed more recent than what i had - somewhere i have an 'old' version (img) I could roll back to this, i assumed the newer would be better.
