  • Hello, I bought this raspberry pi 3 in a kit and downloaded all the games and emulators and put them on a flash drive. It worked fine for a good 6 months, but now it does not. Retropie itself loads and recognizes that I am attempting to start a game up, but then it says something to the effect of "error 21: Out of Temporary memory". It also doesn't load the configuration screen if I press A, as I thought that might help. Once it flashes it's error message for no more then 10 seconds, the whole screen goes blank, and I am not able to go back to the boot menu, I have to do a hard restart to try again.

I haven't put any additional memory on this flash drive, or done any updates to any O/S, since I first got it, and it is NOT hooked up to the internet. I took the flash drive out, and ran it through windows defender program to see if maybe some files were damaged or corrupted, but everything on the drive appears to be fine.

If anyone could help me, that would be great. I'm not very good at the programming stuff, and my kids would like to play the NES and SNES games again. I would also like to avoid starting from scratch.

This doesn't look like a typical RetroPie installation - what version of RetroPie do you have installed ?
You may have ran out of disc space on the sdcard, you can check that by exiting EmulationStation and looking at the welcome message.
