PS4 controller can't select OK or Cancel once in RetroPie Menus

Hi,
New to RetroPie :/

Everything boots up fine, PS4 Controller connected via USB, buttons map ok.

Can select and navigate initial menus using the controller but once I get into further menus (Raspi-config, Es themes etc) my A and B buttons cease to be recognised and I'm unable to make any changes or exit the menus. I can move up and down the options but cannot select.

Any help?

Retro Pie 4.6
Standard 5v Micro USB Power supply
Pre made SD Image
PS4 controller USB connection

I suggest using a USB keyboard/USB mouse for those options. I suspect it could be done with a controller, but I would definitely prefer to do it with a keyboard. Good luck.
