      i dont have a pi 4

      but was curious

How Well Does Sega Saturn Games Play on the PI 4 ?

always wanted to play "die hard the arcade game" "The House of the dead " & "Virtual cop "

does the Saturn emulator on the pi 4 have a light gun option ?

I think some work is being done to bring Yaba Sanshiro to the Pi. I understand it is faster and more accurate than Yabause

            Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
            ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

@George-Spiggott we have a standalone that was released but not on retropie one needs to build it, the lr-versions is a mess basicly broken but works and runs backwards on retroarch, vsync needs to be off to run smooth which has to Ben changed for this emulator from other standard emulators, color also had a issues(fixed) not a proper emulator fix, but anyone is welcome to look into the stand alone to run on there pi4.

@escc1986 I like to also play vuirta cop, there's a few ways to play it on pi4 running twister os running the PC version of Virtua cop and Sega rally championship, even playing die hard on advance Mame with out sound but works faster, or you can try to find other boards that play Sega Saturn, we will be getting vulkan driver and more fixes so I'm sure games will runner better by then, who knows.

just curious .. didnt really understand about the die hard game

so the die hard games works on retropie on pi 4 on advanced mame , just without sound ?

good to know about the twister os , unfortunately i dont plan on installing a desktop version , if i do get a pi 4 i will only have retropie .

If i can recommend similar games that run perfectly on the RPi4 they would be in order from Die Hard, House of the Dead and Virtua Cop

Asian Dynamite (NAOMI 1) is a direct sequel to Die Hard Arcade and runs perfectly at high resolution using lr-flycast emulator

House of the Dead 2 (Dreamcast) plays perfectly using the redream emulator

Silent Scope (Dreamcast) plays perfectly using the redream emulator

both House of the Dead 2 and Silent Scope can be played with a Game Pad or Joystick if you don't have a Lightgun setup

You wont regret getting a Pi 4 ... i waited and procrastinated about buying a Pi 4 for a long time, but purchased one a few weeks ago and couldn't be more happier being able to play a lot more games and systems with it compared to Pi 3 B+

                        Go for it ! :)

saturn became playable on pi4, but it's still far from being a good arm SoC for this, there are far better arm SoC on the market for this : jetson nano, odroid n2

Thank you for your input and suggestions

I really enjoyed them and i will research them and see my options

I did research the jetson Nano it looks great but it's out of my budget at the moment but it was nice that you made the suggestions because I had never knew what those were

                            I just might pick up a Pi 4 :)

Very nice of you to give me a brief reaction of how you enjoy your Pi 4 and it's tempting

I will let you know when or if I pull the trigger on a Pi 4 :)

Which emulator do you use within retropie to have a playable Saturn? i only see lr-yabause and tried several settings to make it work, but it remains a slideshow...

Aside from the currently available options for Saturn emulation, the author of SSF is currently working on a Pi 4 port as well. No indication of when it might be done, but that's something to look out for at least.

@akamming that's really old news btw, but it's not on retropie, it does not have a proper fix so it won't be out in the sun soon, you can build your own, I tested the standalone and lr-yabasanshiro, yabause is a pig hogging all the machines cpu and stuff, but you can play most 2d games on lr-yabasanshiro, 3d is okay playable but they just run a bit slow and sound runs good, not like yabause where sound is always crackling and video shutters, yabasanshiro just runs slower.

@escc1986 you have alot of choices, but if you want something with cash limit, get pi4 2gb, it has Bluetooth built in,4usb,eithernet, easy install fan, use a gamepad Bluetooth or wired,3.5mm audio/video jack input but best of all retropie on pi4 with a big community with support.
