PI2SCART on the RPi4 - User experiences
-
Hi,
I'm curious if anyone can share their experiences with PI2SCART on an RPi4.
Seemingly, it's working with the RPi4 but I got doubts after reading through the responses to this Reddit post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/eau9gi/pi2scart_on_rpi_4/Someone wrote it got problems with resolution switching through runcommand.
Can anyone help me?
I need to decide whether I set up a system on my RPi4 or 3B+ when my PI2SCART arrives. Thanks!

Update:
I couldn't get the PI2SCART running properly on an RPi4 wit RetroPie due to driver issues.
It's just not worth the trouble. So, I switched back to my RPi3B+ and added a fan.
It's possible to use a GPIO adapter so you can install a fan while using the PI2SCART:

I came to the same conclusion as you.
I'm currently running 3b+ with Pi2Scart. It works well enough for most emulators, however there is occasional slowdown on more advanced systems.
My Pi4 has gone back in it's box, waiting and hoping for the day Retropie and Pi2scart play together nicely.

@DJMoss Adding active cooling eliminated the slowdowns I encountered while running some MAME or NeoGeo games.
