Gamelist.xml not working within folder ES

I put a folder in the megadrive rom folder to seperate some games. I made a gamelist.xml for the games within that folder. The folder is called "Megadrive Japan" but none of the metadata is showing up from that gamelist or the boxart. Is there anyway to get this to work? It also doesn't work if I add the gamelist to the exisiting gamelist, even if I change that paths to all match with the seperate folder.
-
There's just one gamelist per ROM folder, so nesting folders with their own
gamelist.xml
will not work. You don't need to create agamelist.xml
for the sub-folder, just add the games there and EmulationStation will automatically add the folder and in the main gamelist. From there you can just enter the folder like you'd do with in a file explorer and see the games. -

I don't even need to include the folder name it'll be able to find it through the <path_./<path/>

I added to the main gamelist as you would with the games in the main folder. They still aren't showing the game art in the sub folder.

@UberLumby oh yeah I'm doing snes now Ijust made megadrive a new es-system

I understand what you're trying to do, but I don't see what exactly are you doing and expect to work. You've posted a gamelist fragment that's not showing any sub-folders. If you expect to paste the sub-folder gamelist onto the main folder gamelist, that won't work unless you adjust the paths.
You can probably just re-scrape your folder + subfolder to have the gamelist generated again (correctly). -

I was basically scraping each folder individual and dumping the gamelist in the respective folder. why I didn't think of scraping it all at once s beyond me. I'll give it a shot
-
@UberLumby Yeah, I just stumbled upon subfolder scraping by accident myself. Also didn't expect the scrapers to do that.
(Like I noticed the "hide preview" button in the forum editor right now by clicking on it accidentally on my way to the "submit" button. 😆 )
