PiBoy DMG low level audio hiss
-
Pi Model or other hardware: Pi4 4Gb
RetroPie Version Used: 4.6
Built From: Experimental Pi, PiBoy DMG imageThere is a low level hiss both via the speaker and the headphone jack (although it's more noticeable via the headphone jack). There is no hiss when I first boot up the Pi, it starts up after it has played a sound from a game. It can be heard all the time while there is no sound generated by a game. After dropping back to emulation station the hiss is still present and remains until next reboot. I can hear changes in the hiss when the Pi is running processes (for example listening on headphones while loading emulation station).
I thought set disable_audio_dither=1 might do it since this apparently added some white noise, but there's already a default command in config.txt; audio_pwm_mode=2 which apparently means that disable_audio_dither does not do anything since this mode does not produce any white noise. I also tried running the PiBoy without the battery in just using the micro USB power supply and that didn't help either.
Does anyone have any ideas?
