      Hello!

Do any of you remember the quick player vs player battle game from Mario All Stars (might have been part of Mario 3?) - was there ever an updated version that allowed more players to play at once?

Also - can anyone suggest other games like this? Im looking for quick fun multiplayer games you can just jump right in and out of for when just hanging out with ppl.

      Bomberman for example :D

      Cheers in advance.

@messy That game was a mini-game in SMB 3 and some others later, and was a tribute to the classic game Mario Bros. I believe. I don't know that the classic version was two players at the same time though.

You should check out Super Mario War. It is a
vailable directly from Retropie as a Port.

We also used to play the battle mode in Mario Kart 64. It was always a lot of fun since it kept score. We'd play for quick matches or best of 5/10/15 for competitions.

I have found a versino but I am not sure which emulator to use. The ROM folder has multiple sub folders -
            filters
            gfx
            maps
            music
            sfx
super mario war.app - if I drill down on this a few folders I get to a "MacOS" folder which inside has a file called "super mario war" although there is no clue what type it is.

There are also some SDL frameworks folders.

I assume this is meant for MacOS then? Is there a version for snes or something simpler?

managed to find it! unfortunately when it loads to the first page where it says press any key to continue it freezes kinda.

I press every key on teh controller but nothing happens (names of contributers continue to scroll) - I have to pull the power to the pie to reboot :(

Just had a peek as I haven't set this up for ages, do you have a keyboard? As first time you load the game you need it to setup the controls for gamepad.

After you've done that once you don't need the keyboard again. The menus take a bit of getting used to but the game is good fun multiplayer once you've got things setup nicely.

Yes, it requires some setup but it's working on my Retropie on a Raspberry Pi 3B. Loads of fun and laughs with the mates, strongly recommended.
