Duplicate names when saving configurations - amiberry
-
I am having a slight problem with duplicate names being created.
Here is having my example. so I wanted to put leaderboard on for the amiga, I got the ROM and started it up through retropie. However the mouse is not selected in Port 0: for this game. No big issue I go into input controls through amiberry menu when the game is running and change it, then I go into configurations and press save.
This works but it when I know go into amiga through the Retropie menu there are duplicate names for the game. Yes no matter which one I press it works and the mouse is working but is there a way to just have one name showing in the emulation menu instead of 2?

@chris3535
That's because you chose to save you configuration file into /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga.Let me guess: you tried to change the defaults paths in the 'Paths' panel in the Amiberry configuration menu, didn't you?
(if so, I understand why you mentioned an issue with the Kickstart Bios on another post).
To repair everything, run the "+Start Amiberry" entry from EmulationStation, go to the Paths panel and make sure you have:
System ROMs:
/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOSConfiguration files:
/opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/confAt the bottom of the screen, click on 'Rescan Paths" to make sure all your BIOS are placed in the correct folder.
Then, to remove the 'duplicated' entry in the Amiga menu (and place your configuration for this game in the right location), you have to go to the terminal and type a few Linux commands. Let's say you have only one duplicated entry and you are not sure about its exact name.
Press F4 to exit EmulationStation and arrive on the black and textual Linux terminal. Type those three lines, one after the other:
cd /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga mv *.uae /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/conf/ emulationstation
Then everything should work as expected now.

@yserra just incase anyone else has this issue this website is why I changed my path settings.

Yes @Chris3535, you are absolutely right: the path for the config files that is shown in the screenshot of the official tutorial you mentioned is definitively wrong.

@yserra thanks for your help I sorted this.
That didn't work when I typed what you put. It kept saying no directory etc.
Anyways I deleted the duplicate games.. Put the correct paths in and did the games again and now only one appears in emulation list and it works great.
Thanks again
