I just downloaded portable game station 1.5 and updated it with latest emu station. when I start a game in ES it goes minimize for a sec, brings up cmd window and straight back to emulationstation games list. I can easily run games thru launch box which I have on my desktop.
also I previously (2 yrs ago) had emulationstation and didnt have issue with it. however it was just regular version and not portable version.

I been searching about this and came up with a post from 2016. another user had similar issue and previously had emulation station. he mentioned he managed to fix it by deleting es_systems.cfg. from local .es directory . I just dont know where to look for this file. I already deleted every thing related to the pervious version of ES . so I dont know what else I should delete. can any one help us with this ? Thank you.

The dot at the beginning of a directory name will be hidden by default on a Linux box I believe. (" . es" would be hidden. "es" would not.) That may help you track down more files.
