First boot up of retropie comes up with a command line.
-
the thing is was working till i restarted the retropie from the retropie menu
-
OK, so if you're at the command prompt, then run
sudo raspi-config
and you'll be presented with a menu, where you can follow the instructions from the topics I mentioned and re-enable auto-login.
What happens if you typesudo raspi-config
and press enter after you login ? -
@mitu comes up with rasppberry pi software confguration tool
-
@blazein OK, so it works - did you read any of the topics I mentioned ?
-
@mitu yes done both and then click finish
-
@blazein Then you may have a different problem. The way RetroPie configures auto-login is exactly how you set it up in
raspi-config
, so if it doesn't work now then there's another problem at stake. -
@blazein then says reboot now click yes
-
@blazein now gone back to the command screen
-
@blazein can u give me commands that u might think work
-
@blazein im doin the update and upgrade u think that work
-
what does this mean
pure virtual method called terminate called without an active exception aborted -
@blazein It means your Emulationstation crashed - so probably auto-login works now.
-
@mitu so do the raspi config again
-
@blazein I'm sorry - what exactly are you asking ?
-
@mitu i did the auto login again from the raspi config settings now im getting pure virtual method called terminate called without an active exception aborted
-

Yes, and I said that's an error from Emulationstation, not related to the auto-login. Is auto-login working now or you still get the login prompt ?
-
@mitu still goin to the command screen when do the login auto

That's because Emulationstation crashes and it leaves you at the command line. Try updating your packages (if you haven't done so) and if you still get the error, then you should open a new topic with this problem - it's no longer an auto-login issue - and provide the information asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
