Controller not working for PS emulator
-
I have a PS4 controller that works on all menus, all other emulators and roms but when I try to play a PlayStation game I get nothing for the most part. It reacts fine in retroarch and I can exit the emulator no problem using the start and hotkey but nothing else except for a handful of games. I have read about switching from Analog to Digital but I'm not sure I am doing it correctly. Currently I am trying that from within the retroarch>controls menu. Any ideas?

@jhferguson you have to open the retroarch menu using hotkey x from the emulator and go to quick menu, and then options. Not controls, and change the controller to either DualShock, which works fine for most games, or standard, required for many older games. The analog option is there but don’t use it, dual shock will cover that.

@lostless I don’t have any options for controls under options. I sincerely apologize as I thought retroarch would be the same for all versions but maybe it is not. In any case, I am using a pi4. When I go into retroarch using start and the hot key I do have an option for the quick menu and then options but nothing in there has anything to do with a controller. Maybe I am missing something. Thank you for your help.

@jhferguson update the emulator. I think an update added it in a while ago.
-
@lostless I updated it the week after Christmas when I began building this image.

@jhferguson
I have similar issue since an update few weeks ago, latest update to 4.7.3 didn't solve the issue.
No more lb retroarch mapping under psx.
Try select+y or home+y. -
Somthing has changed. I’m now having trouble after I just updated (it’s been a while). Gonna try and figure it out

For me help this method.
In core options:
-Show other inputs settings and restart retroarch
-turn off multitap 1 and 2 and restart retroatch
-set in contrlos standard padif you lost pad again in control save standard pad for core.

@zzackk Thank you, this fix resolved the problem for me.

@zzackk Show other inputs was already set to on. Turned off multitap 1 and 2 and under the controls menu I changed it to standard and still got the same thing. Any ideas?

Fixed it. In Retroarch>Settings>Input: There are a couple options in there for Turbo Mode. I changed Turbo Mode to Single Button and everything is working now. Thank you all for your assistance.

@jhferguson I fixed by removing all configs and reinstalling lr-pcsxReARMed, which gives you default settings. Im assuming with all the changes of where certain options are located, that having an older config might cause issues. This is why I rarely update when I have a good build.

This is also happening with RetroArch for Android, reverting to a previous build (november 2020) of PCSX ReARMed solved the issue without changing any RA config.
