      Hey everyone,

As you can tell from the title I'm looking for games that are like Terraria or Harvest Moon; games with crafting or building (or growing) aspects to it. "Sandbox" style as well but nothing too violent like GTA. But here's the caveat: they would have to be games that are easily emulated on retropie, so something on genesis or snes? Dreamcast? Even PSP or original playstation. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

@minimanzer0 Building, growing, sandbox like? What about Sim City, Sim Ant, Civilization and similar games? I don't know any game on the 16 bit consoles that would be similar to Terraria or Harvest Moon. There are other games, quite not fitting your description, but you maybe still interested in checking out. Nothing sandbox or building involved in the following games:

        • "Haunting starring Polterguy" on Mega Drive/Genesisyou play a ghost in a house and have to try frighten the people.

        • "Wonder Project J" on the SNES is about raising a robot and trying to make it more human like. I think the SNES mouse is supported (i can be wrong on this). There is an English patch for it.

        • "Radical Dreamers" on SNES is another "strange" game. It plays in the Chrono-universe, but the game is unlike anything on the series. It is something what is called "visual novel" or so, like an interactive book if you will so. There is not too much of gameplay involved and it is certainly not a rpg. English patch is available.

@thelostsoul thanks for the suggestions. I remember not being a fan of Sim Ant growing up but I'll check out civilization for sure.

Also it doesn't have to be a 16 bit game, just something that retropie can emulate.

@minimanzer0 Civilization is a strategy game with menus and colonization. It is not a game like Harvest Moon where you control a character. I bring these games up, because there is nothing else like Harvest Moon or Terraria on these systems.

Harvest Moon is available for SNES, PSX, GBC, GBA and N64 and all run really well. Rune Factory is on the DS, which is a variant of Harvest Moon. And there's also Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon on the PSP.

@kookamunga thanks. Coincidentally I just got that game today and was trying it out earlier. It looks pretty cool and seems to be in the vain of what I'm looking for.
