Lately everything runs fine on my x86 RetroPie build except for mupen64plus but since it is the only core to use highres textures i'd really love to have it work. Unfortunately it's a pain... you know where. First it crashed on every rom (uncompressed n64). When looking for the runcommand.log file i found out that there is none. In a thread from 2019 i found someone who had the same issue but had a logfile to provide, showing it was a problem with pulseaudio. With that sorted out mupen64plus now loads but not only looks terrible, also the sound is crackling massively and super mario 64 seems to run at... i'd say 80% speed. This is an i5 4690K and a GTX 960... even on my pi4 it runs at fullspeed in mupen64plus. Maybe someone could push me in the right direction since i have no idea where to start.

      any help appreciated

@tommy86 please provide all the info requested here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - which also gives instructions on how to acquire a log - mupen64plus certainly provides a log in the usual place.
