I have a local modification on my Emulationstation which may be useful for a greater audience:

If you navigate to the ES Quit menu you currently have to confirm each restart/quit/reboot/shutdown action. While it is fine if you are new to ES it can be cumbersome in the longer run. Remember you have a dedicated Quit menu which makes it difficult to press e.g. shutdown accidently.

I made it a commandline option to ES --no-confirm-quit which is not available in the Settings and not persisted in the es_settings.cfg because I assume this option is not changed very often and I don't want to overload the Settings menu with it. If the option is not given on the commandline the confirm dialog shows up as nowadays.

Question: Is this useful for other users / in general?

@lolonois I get where you're coming from. It's cool to have options. I've been using the default behavior for years and it hasn't bothered me, but I can see where in some circumstances safety can come across as condescending.

        Are you sure?
        Are you really sure?
OK, last chance... Do you still want to go through with it?
Once it's turned off you'll have to turn it back on before you can play Frogger. Are you sure?

@iandaemon Before I got my hands "dirty" with ES code, I deployed triggerhappy to shutdown / reboot with some three-button-combo, only active when in ES to avoid shutdown in Streetfighter and alike ;-). My sketched option above is a convenience option for those who don't want to deal with triggerhappy and runcommand or such.

Filed it nevertheless as it is useful if one does not have additional "safe shutdown hardware" or don't want to fiddle with triggerhappy.
