Cheapest Raspberry Pi compatible keyboard?
-
Just wanted some recommendations for a really cheap keyboard that I can use with the Pi as the one I use for my PC doesn't work. Under £10 if possible! :)
-
Any cheapo USB keyboard will be fine. I think the setting in ES are UK keyboard by default.
If you want a BT style, they vary in quality... Amazon or Google. Usually get one for around 10 USD or 7 quid by you.

@jamrom2 Thanks for relying.
Not sure about the 'any keyboard' as the one I have doesn't work for what ever reason. :(
-
@colstar are you sure the keyboard works at all? i.e. on a computer?
-
@colstar any keyboard means any keyboard.
I've used Dell, Lenovo, Logitech... like LandyVlad said. Does the one you have work? The Pi is not really sensitive to the name brand. You can plug in anything that works on an PC.
I've been using Retropie for over 5 years with a Pi2, Pi3, Pi3b+.... never had any issues with whatever USB keyboard I pulled off the shelf at work and plugged in.

@landyvlad I use it on my PC everyday. :)
-
@colstar under £10 might be pushing it but this one will probably work fine

If I read your other thread correctly, you are only using a 1amp power supply. This may be the root of your problem with your current keyboard. Get a real power supply (2.5A or higher) and then try.

Filtered to under £10 with a USB connection. [LINK]
Keyboards require no special drivers, therefore any USB keyboard works.
Thorr69 is right if you're using a 1Amp power supply, there's not going to be enough power on your usb ports for some devices. -
@crush Thanks for the info, will get another PSU.
