      I have Retropie 4.7.1 on a Pi3B set up for my nephew. I installed using the Pi imager. It is in a Nespi case, with Canakit PS. It is also overclocked and running great.

      I initially set it up with an old Xbox controller. I have also synced two Logitech G710 controllers with it. Systems emulated are PC-ENgine, Genesis, NES, SNES, PS1, and N64. I found that using lr-mupen64plus or lr-mupen64plus-next work the best with N64. Any other N64 emulators have lag, and the -next runs just like I remember my old N64.

      The problem is that I cannot figure out why the left analog stick and the D-pad don't work on N64, using lr-mupen64plus(next), with the Logitech controllers. They work properly on all other emulated systems, and the other N64 emulators. Using the Xbox controller in lr-mupen64plus(next) works fine. I would really like to stay wireless for this setup. I attempted any config changes I found online, and on the Retropie docs. I searched this forum and found nothing. I hope someone smarter than me can help me troubleshoot. I can paste any configs you request from me. Thanks in advance!

        Bump.

        There isn't a single person here willing to help?

        I can't be the only one using these controllers.

          People can be busy, but usually someone comes in eventually.

          I also had a similar problem for my raspberry pi 4B and I'm pretty sure I'm using the same emulator.

          My controller itself was working fine and I found that the problem was only in one game (Rogue Squadron), because the controller was configured wrong. I used arcade joysticks and buttons I found on Amazon, instead of a controller, but what I did was I manually mapped the controls for each player using the in-game Retroarch menu and changing how the inputs worked. I had to plugin a keyboard to access the retorarch menu, but there are hotkeys in-game to access the retroarch menu.

            Well, this is happening on all the N64 games, using the lr-mupen64plus emulator with the Logitech G710 controllers.

            I am familiar with the RunCommand before the game starts, but I didn't know there was in-game settings. How is that accessed?

              @nerlins https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Controller-Configuration/#hotkey - you use Hotkey + X to open the RetroArch's menu.

                  @helloThere It's funny, because I thought I read every doc there was. Somehow I missed everything on the hotkey function; other than using it to quit the game.

                  I will see what I can figure out after work today.

                    Well, you guys are awesome. Once I figured out where to change input settings in Retroarch..and then how to save my configuration...I got it working. The mappings for the left analog stick were blank, somehow. Note: I edited the main RetroArch config, and not Core configs. Both were blank, but I wanted it to correct every N64 rom.

                    I assume that means the Dpad was working, and it just wasn't being needed by Mario64, which I was testing on.
