Red pixelation, massive screen tearing/flicker, and control issues.

Hi. I’m generally new to all of this, but I’m having several issues with my image. I’m waiting on a new SD card and HDMI-mini cable arriving tomorrow.
Summary of the issues encountered so far are
multiple series of red pixelation intermittently. Hoping this is the hdmi cable/hdmi boost and will test tomorrow. Will update
Screen tearing/flickering, at first this was just during the higher end consoles like Dreamcast and PS but now it’s near constant. The video below was with the system on for less than 5 minutes running nothing above SNES. Monitor will occasionally just turn off and then back on 5-10 seconds later.

https://imgur.com/gallery/BT2kN0YThen of a lesser concern but one i hope someone knows the solution to right off hand. Running any mortal Kombat mame game, the second players ‘A’ and ‘R’ button do not work, despite both players controls being mapped identically. Additionally, when running any console version of those same games, the second player controls work flawlessly.
Seriously any amount of help is appreciated I am very admittedly over my head.

Hi. I’m generally new to all of this, but I’m having several issues with my image.
And what image is it?
-
@thorr69 hi. Now I’m unsure how to check. Another thread suggested updating my resolution. So i did so. To 1280 x 1024, and after it rebooted i now have no video at all. Audio continues. I plugged the hdmi port directly into my TV to check there, and it says no signal. I’m wondering if my LCD controller is just a brick.
This however doesn’t relate to the issues with controls.

are all 4 wired identically to their encoders?
-
@lostless I’m not 100% sure what that means. But they are all in their correct slots yes, and control the correct player in each game I’ve tried.
-
@jhstoke meaning is each wire going to the same spot, for each button, on each of the usb converters (encoder)? are they wired identically?
-
@lostless just now leaving for work unfortunately. I believe so, yes. And all buttons work correctly in other games. Only the arcade versions of MK don’t appear to. I will take a picture of the control board and double check after work though.
