Dreamcast(reicast) wont load Sonic Adventure 2

When I try to load the rom, whether through RetroPie or through the emulator itself, it boots me back to retropie (or the main DC menu depending on the rom). I tried all 3 formats, .cdi .chd and .gdi. i tried 3 different downloads and took the cue and gdi files separately and together and compressed them into CHD, still nothing. Best results I got were from GDI (and other files) loose in folder.
I have the bios, checked to make sure it's correct, tried alternatives. Crazy taxi works. All of my roms including these work on Redream.
The point I got to is this https://streamable.com/w2nh5x where the game loads up to a certain point then boots me back. So strange, never had this issue with an emulator. Usually it either works or it doesnt, this is half working. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Although I am not familiar with dreamcast emulation. Do you know if this game has been successfully emulated with reicast before? Also, in oder to help you we need to know more about your system. Did you make it yourself? What kind of raspberry pi are you using? What software version are you using?

@goombah111 Are you using standalone Reicast or lr-flycast?
