Can anything be done with Bangai-o in lr-flycast?
-
lr-flycast has no problems at all on the Pi 4 with 2D games throwing vast amounts of stuff around onscreen. It doesn't bat an eyelid at the likes of Giga Wing or Ikaruga. So what's going on with Bangai-o when it runs nicely for five seconds then stops absolutely dead for five seconds then repeats that cycle permanently?
Is it anything to do with VGA? Has anyone figured out any settings to make it behave itself?

@jimmyfromthebay Do you have a bios for flycast? If not then you need to put one. I remember bangai o will stutter a lot and wont run properly without it.

@genos98 Yes, I have dc_boot.bin and dc_flash.bin in home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/dc.

does look to be a BIOS issue: https://github.com/libretro/flycast/issues/747
please confirm you don't have the HLE BIOS selected via https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Core-Options/ and if not, please supply a verbose log as per https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

@dankcushions I don't have HLE selected.
Here's the log: https://pastebin.com/UcpDLrqY

Aha! I see it was failing to find the BIOS - I didn't consider that because literally every other game has worked perfectly. dc_boot.bin and dc_flash.bin were both in there, but they were the wrong files. Have now replaced them and everything's peachy. Cheers for the tip :)
